Many meetings abuzz about McSherrystown bypass
Discussions on a plan to extend Eisenhower Drive to create a bypass around McSherrystown continue among many parties, and Conewago Township officials - who last year demonstrated opposition to the project - ...

Nonsense. Why not a bus system linking Hanover. Gettysburg, Littlestown, New Oxford. Abbottstown and York. There are less miles being driven due the gas prices and the bypass would only be good for the kid racer's in their zipper loud muffler cars. Of course this kind of talk is over the head of redneck communities.

The bypass would also allow tractor trailers to get to 116 without going through town. Rabbit Transit already provides bus service. |

More stupid comments from the clueless Big John. Go crawl under you rock, let those with a brain handle things. |

Apparently you are the one with the stupid comments, like we need more money going out of our pockets and the kids are on Eisenhower drive all the time riding with there friends in the next lane and we cant even get around them, we are having enough trouble getting by so lets spend 10 MILLION DOLLARS or more on a road thats not needed. They cant even fix the roads around here but they want to spend more money WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!! is it really necessary?

More clueless comments, this time from bag lady. |

Well fist of all let me say thank you to who ever called me Bag Lady just goes to show you have so smarts like the rest of the idiots up here .And i can just think of another way to spend our hard earned money. Pa cant even fix the roads we have allready but yet they want to spend 10 million dollars to add another usless road up here!!! I wonder is this road going to be 35 or 45 mph like all the other ones so we can still get no where fast?

Move back to where you came from idiot. |

Another bypass going nowhere fast. For 20 years or more there has been talk of a bypass around Hanover. West Manhiem and Penn Township both want it, they just don't want it in their townships. Each time that there is a meeting on the bypass nobody wants it in their backyard but they want the bypass so the traffic isn't going where they go.
Now there is talk of a bypass around north Hanover and Mcsherrystown. Again, alot of people want it as long as it doesn't go along their backyards. They don't want to have to contend with the tractor trailers in town. The boroughs and townships want it as long as they don't have to pay for it. The people want it as long as the kids or cars with buzz mufflers don't use it. Let's not forget that PA has the worst roads in the world and won't take care of the ones they have now. Perhaps you should check and see that PA is in the top 10 states for the total milage amount of roads in the country. Also, our registration rates are some of the lowest. Make sure that the roads you are complaining about are the state's responsibility and not your borough's or township's. A better idea would be to ration gas for everybody, 10 gallons per week. Allow people to only drive between sun-up and sun-down except for work and Saturday evenings until 11pm for social events. Not allow students to drive to school. No shopping on Sundays. Restuarants would have to close on Sundays. These things would save gas and help to break our dependance on foreign oil. |

Is there any reason to call people names? just goes to show i was right about people here not being intelegent huh?. Im just stating the facts.Truth Hurts dosent it?

Not sure where you got your information but it is not correct. The meetings held were for transportation improvements in the Hanover area and a bypass was not part of the discussion based on studies priviously conducted by PennDot. Some have been completed, others are on the TIP, and some are just proposed for the future. A bypass is not going to happen, period. |

Hanover Man: Please do not drive. If you can not make it around on Eisenhower drive, I fear for my safety and the safety of others if you are driving anywhere period. Go choke on some engine oil. |

Did the Communist party of America pay you to write that? Are you truly that stupid and uninformed about the constitution? You have definitely made the loser list. I hope you die in a horrible fire caused being fueled by oil. |

Is there any reason to pretend to be a "lady". "Intelegent"? WTF? INTELLIGENT is what I think you meant. Here is another name to call you. Bad-speller. |
NO, no party caused me to write that. I am not stupid or uninformed. These are things that have been done in this country in the past. They were thrown out to make people think about what could happen if the gas situation really got desperate in this country. Also, then we wouldn't need a bypass or extra roadways. The only loser here is someone that would wish death on another human being. |

I'm wishing death on you before you write something else stupid. If you wish not to use gas so much, by all means don't. You can stay at your house all day long, walk and save the environment too. I'm sure the people in town wouldn't miss you much either. Idiot. Go back to China. |

CEB, One problem with your plan of no shopping on Sunday or driving after sunset is that most that work a M-F job would go shopping on Sat. that would severely increase the amount of traffic, cause bottle necks and traffic jams that would waste tons of fuel. With no driving after sunset for all of us that work jobs that are open after sunset guess we could sleep at work. NOT !
I agree that something need to be done to reduce fuel usage! |

All the current commissioners need voted out for slowing this down by that stupid letter letter they sent last year. Add that to the dumb ice skating rink and the ridiculous salaries of the yokel police and my taxes are headed up again.

People don't realize how blessed we are. The closest major highways are 15 and 83, and we have no major public transportation. Do you have any idea how much that does to help keep a lot of the Riff Raff away. It's bad enough we have rabbit transit connecting us to York, and they're building a bypass around Hampstead. Some have made there way here, but why give them a direct corridor. |
