McSherrystown residents to face fines up to $1,000 for uncut grass
McSherrystown council hopes to be able to get some property owners within the borough to cut their grass or face fines that can legally run as high as $1,000 a day.

Truck crashes into transformer pole in New Oxford
A 1996 Dodge pickup truck driven by a McSherrystown man struck four mailboxes and sheared off a utility pole Tuesday morning in New Oxford, according to Eastern Adams Regional Police.
Intruder reported at Delone Catholic Tuesday
Officials arrived at the school building at 140 S Oxford Ave ., McSherrystown, around 6:30 a.m. and noticed signs of forced entry, according to an online statement from Vice Principal Sister Maria Jude and Dean of Students Alan Felix.

McSherrystown seeks trash hauler
The borough's existing contract with York Waste expires in June. And the Borough Council recently decided to reject a request by York Waste to create separate contracts for hauling residential and commercial waste.
