Aberdeen Township Police have charged a Belmar man with threatening a La Costera tax driver with a knife in order to rob him at 2 o'clock in the morning of April 9. Police detectives have charged Ezekiel L. Vega, 20, Shark River Ave. in Belmar with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and theft.

Apolinar Pelaez, 19, of Main Street in Matawan has been indicted by a grand jury on seven counts related to burglary, theft and weapons possession of a crime that occurred in Aberdeen on December 23. Guadalupe Natividad, 19, of New Brunswick is also facing the same charges.

Taxi cab driver robbed at knifepoint in Aberdeen
Police are investigating an armed robbery of a taxicab driver at about 2 a.m. Wednesday from a fare that originated at the Marc Hampton apartments in Matawan and was dropped off at Barrington Gardens apartments on Aberdeen Road, police said.
