<![CDATA[RICHMOND, Ind. - Rheba L. Mote, age 99, of Richmond, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Heritage House of Richmond. Born December 16, 1913, in Centerville, Indiana, to Marshall and Pearl Brumfield Miller, she was a life-long resident of this area. Rheba attended schools in Centerville and Richmond. She retired after 22 years of service from Insurance Company of North America. Rheba and her husband, David "Ted," were active members in the Masonic Lodge. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star Chapter #49, White Shrine of Jerusalem #62 of Fairborn, Ohio, Past Worthy Priestess of White Shrine, and Social Order of Beauceant. Rheba was a life-long member of First Christian Church, teaching an adult Sunday school class and was Past President of the "Golden Band Class," as well as being an active choir member. Survivors include her sons, Ronald, James, and Duane Harter and their families, which include 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Mote who died January 5, 1978; sons, Jay Stuart Harter and Robert M. Harter; brother, Walter Miller; and sister, Blanche Austermann. Visitation for Rheba L. Mote will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. with a service provided by the Eastern Star at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor John Hollis officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
