Britney Webster's voice trembles as she talks about growing up without a mom. "She was a recovering addict and was still going through the process," said Britney Webster , 21, of Marion Station.

The Somerset Strawberry Festival returns this weekend. The four-year-old event occurs annually in Marion Station, also known as the "Strawberry Capital of the World." "The idea of the event was Allison Castellana's, who was the events planner for Crisfield and wanted to help the business owners in Marion," said organizer Earlene Coulbourne.

A centuries-old home will play host to the annual fundraiser for The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture.

The hours for Friday are 5-9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Opening ceremonies will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, with Charles Papperella and the Mount Olive String Band followed by Rukie Dize and Dark Gold Jazz from 6:30-8:30. Following a show-and-go start at American Legion Stanley Cochrane Post 16 from 8-9 a.m., riders have the option of following a 62.1-mile or 23.1-mile route.
