Police dogs are dangerous animals. They should be placed with a professional officer who understands this. When trained even the rejected dogs have an attitude problem. I personally don't like dogs trained for this purpose.

Bravo for the officer who listened to her and had her husband arrested. This gives faith to the other wives who have suffered situations like this. Hopefully they have given her a protective order to make sure there are more serious ramifications if he goes near her before this is settled. Other people, including his friends will try to talk her out of pursuing the charges. It is lonely road when you accuse a man in blue of domestic abuse. I hope she sticks with it.

This is the result when Top Cops like Harrington and Fletcher try to be the "buddy" of their officers. This wouldn't have gone over well with Finney. That's why all these podting losers hate him so much. With guys like Fletcher, you have guys like Mark Naylon. We're not talking childhood friends or former associates. No, we're talking best friends and best man in Fletcher's wedding. Big diff!

.

Harrington was never a leader. We the taxpayer deserve much better!

Of course everyone enjoys the constitutional protections and assumption of innocent until proven guilty EXCEPT police officers. With them, F the constitution and bill of rights that all citizens, except police officers, are protected by. Everyday dozens of men are arrested in St. Paul for domestic assault and rape and child molestation and strangeling and you don't read about it the paper.

Chief Finney would not have allowed this. We need his tough law and order style back! The community deserves this great leader and nothing less.

Many years ago,(1983)after serving my former husband with a protection order, I went to 16 weeks of Domestic Abuse Couseling. In that class we were told that the occupation with the highest instance of abuse was "Police Officer". Right then I realized why this issue had gone soooooo long without any significant changes. The subject is more in the open now but there are still police doing it....including the the guy that shot Fong Lee. It was just recently in the paper about him. Both of these guys are supposed to be Peace Officers.

As far as not knowing what went on behind closed doors...to me that is outright blaming the VICTIM. It doesn't matter what the REASON this cop did it, just that he did. He above anyone else should know to walk away when things get out of hand. Isn't that what they tell REGULAR abusers to do?
I hope the Blue doesn't go up on this woman.

You mean like a lot of other citizens who get the charge reduced from a Domestic Assault to a standard 5th Degree Assault? Cops aren't the only ones that get charges lowered or amended. I was checking the court documents on a lot of my DWI arrests from the past two years. All of the suspects were convicted, but most of the 2nd or 3rd Degree DWI arrests were lowered by one degree. The courts are so busy nowadays that they actively seek plea deals with those that are charged with crimes to save money on going to trial and increasing their conviction rate.

You can't sit there and say that Officer Rinehart is going to get his charges lowered or dismissed just because he's a police officer. It happens a majority of the time (at least in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties).

Do they get different rules because they are Police Officers?

Even if SHE did push first, he should just walk away. Not do what other people get arrested for. We don't need to wait and see. For what, the typical excuses of ALL abusers. Like my alltime favorite from my past "you make me do it"

Do you think that the power is going to their heads? Or perhaps it's the pressure of working the mean streets of Saint Paul and seeing sleezebags who wreak violence constantly, walk on lesser charges or get off completely. I'm not saying that this would justify violence on his part but walk a mile or two in his shoes first before passing final judgement.

And its sad that women have to go to a battered shelter to learn to shut up and walk away.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
