A former West Virginia mayor and a city council member are battling over birds. They're neighbors in Mannington.

It's not quite Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," but former Mannington Mayor Frank White says he's had enough of the winged creatures for a long time.

Nearly everyday, former Mannington Mayor Frank White says he steps out of his Windy Hill Drive residence to find significant amounts of birds migrating on and around his home and property.

Several members of the Mountainstate Association of Bed and Breakfasts are providing free rooms on Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day to honor servicemen and women currently serving or who have previously served their country.

Courtesy of the federal government, the city has been awarded a $75,000 technology grant.
