Was this the Quincienera celebration?

If so, how sad that this young woman had to have this happen on her special day.

Yes it was Anja. Is is so sad that these people can't stay in St. James, Madelia, or Worthington and keep their turf wars there. Mankato has more than there share of crime these days. Why do they have to come to Mankato and do their crime here? This costs the taxpayers so much money and times are hard enough already.

Well, a lot of people come to Mankato because our City Fathers are determined to make this Party City.

There was a large front page article in the paper about the celebration which began at the church where the young woman makes a speech in which she is making a commitment to being a young adult and a contributing member of society.

She's fifteen and alcohol is being served?

These were people from out of town.

If they are among her friends it looks like she has some work to do in who she picks to help her keep her commitment.

It's ironic that our officers have recently been called on the carpet for not making more of an effort to accomodate our minority population.

Anja, I think most young people drink from time to time. The only reason these spanish people came to Mankato is because there is a Catholic Church that caters to them. I don't understand this, no Catholic Churches in St. James, Madelia, Windom, or Worthington? The Catholic Church loves the Spanish People because they all have large families. I guess they are the only ones who can afford large families these days!

I don't have a problem with Spanish-speaking people as long as they are contributing citizens.

I do have a problem with drunken people who attack law enforcement officers.

This celebration of a young woman's entering into an age of responsibility was marred by people who did not celebrate in a respectful way.

An attitude of tolerance for people breaking laws is a contributing factor, I believe.

I don't have a problem with Spanish-speaking people or any other non-English speaking people. After all no one speaks english in the United States any more so why should anyone care?
As far as I'm concerned its everyone for themselves these days.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
