Who rides Tri-Rail? Who doesn't?

Typically I ride my bike to work (about 14 miles each way) but sometimes when I'm feeling under the weather or something I'll take the train, which cuts my distance in half. It's super cheap, and convenient.

The problem that discourages me the most is that I live near the Sheridan Street - Federal Highway bus stop.

1) From that stop, It takes 18 minutes by bus, 20 minutes on foot, 10 minutes on bike. If I miss a bus, I consider walking if it's cool enough. I can beat the next bus to the train station.(I don't like standing around feeling like a forgotten customer).

2) A missed ride adds another 45 minutes (45 + 18= 63 minutes) at a bus stop in direct rain, direct sun and an ugly chain-link fence to stand by with 15 or more people doing the same.

4) Of course, you can hang out at the Valero gas station 200 feet to the east to get out of the rain. The gas station roof is too high to protect riders from the sun until the sun rises high enough- around 10AM/ 100-degrees).

Summary: my main complaint is getting to and from the train station. Tri-Rail itself is wonderful. Yet, I strongly recommend avoiding using the bus.

Again. When going to any train station in Broward, AVOID THE BUS if possible and the taxi is way too expensive!!!!!!
