Several agencies were following a stolen Lexus after it was seen about 12:40 a.m. on Australian Avenue and 45th Street in Mangonia Park.
Sheriff's deputies used tire-deflating 'stop sticks' about two miles away at Australian Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The driver swerved to avoid the sticks, the Sheriff's Office said, but hit them anyway. The Lexus then swerved 75 feet and crashed through both walls of the duplex in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
