A complainant from CVS, located at 155 Sunrise Highway, reported to police on Nov. 12 at 1:34 a.m. that one known man and two unknown person stole 12 bottles of liquid Tide detergent valued at $197 from the store.

A hunter shot and killed his friend after mistaking him for a deer while on a hunting trip in upstate New York, police said.

Police responded to the drug rehabilitation and treatment center for adolescent males on Industrial Road - not far from police headquarters - after a report of a victim of violence at about 5:10 p.m. They found an 18-year-old male victim had been assaulted.

Malverne Firefighter Killed in Upstate Hunting Accident
Malverne firefighter and Franklin Square resident Charles Bruce was killed in an upstate hunting accident Saturday after a friend mistook him for a deer, the NY Daily News reported.
