Any person that kills another intentionally deserves to spend the rest of their life behind bars. The fact that this man killed another who was attempting to enforce the laws enacted by the public only reinforces the fact that he has no value for what society deems as appropriate behavior. Don't keep this man in prison because he is a "cop killer", keep him in prison because he is a piece of trash that has no business roaming the streets with people that can behave themselves in an appropriate manner. He has no business breathing free air that people like Officer Jeff Phegley fought to keep safe.
Officer Phegley: You did an honorable thing by working the streets trying to keep the innocent safe. You did a truley selfless act by giving up your ballistic vest for another officer so they too could be out of harms way. Many people walk in your footsteps, and many more will never forget what happened. You did enough, now keep resting in peace...let the rest of us deal with this trash. Inmate McIntosh: I've seen the pain you've caused in the eyes of people who knew Officer Phegley, 22 years after you pulled the trigger. More than two decades later people are still mourning because of your crime. Chief Reynolds was part of the search the night you killed a police officer. I almost wish those that found you would have ended this all with a single bullet to your temple, however, there is something to be said for a lifetime of personal reflection in a small concrete enclosure with only "Bubba" to keep you company. You can have a second chance when Officer Phegley gets his. Rot in prison, then burn in hell... |

I knew both men in passing.(Class of 83 LMHS) What happened if it was told correctly, was absolute idiocy, but it 22 years isn't enough time behind bars I don't know, maybe 25? 30? 40? I despise the knee jerk reactions to paroling this guy because he shot a cop during a fight, if it were a "regular" citizen, no one would be screaming for his continued incarceration. But after all, regular people don't count. I guess 22 years of someone's life, and their prime years, are worthless, and their sacrifice of no value.
