Sunday, July 1, 1984 Santa Fe to Albuquerque, NM 80 miles I'm reprinting the day-to-day journal entries of a cross-country bike tour my friend and I took in 1984.
Albuquerque man killed in crash
An Albuquerque man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on New Mexico 14, just south of Madrid.
Nov. 10, 1957 to June 26, 2008 Marilyn Ruby Madrid, 50, of Fort Collins was born to Manuel and Rebecca Blea in Albu querque, N.M. She graduated from Rio Grand High School in 1975.
Madrid, N.M., is a unique destination, to say the least. The town, originally founded in the 1800s as a coal mining town, is now an artist's haven - a hippie enclave of sorts.
