Now is your chance as Jill Jaycox of The Seeing Eye in Morristown will speak about being a Seeing Eye puppy raiser at the Morristown & Morris Township Library on Each year approximately five hundred Seeing Eye puppies are placed with volunteer puppy raising families throughout New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and parts of Maryland and New York. Until a Seeing Eye dog is ready for training, it spends its time with a "foster family," a family that gives the puppy love, gentle guidance, teaches the puppy basic commands and exposes them to a variety of social situations they will later encounter as guides.

Flu shots soon to be available for Chatham and Madison residents

The Madison Health Department has announced that seasonal influenza immunizations will be administered to residents in Chatham Township, Madison and Chatham Borough. It may take up to two weeks for protection to develop after receiving the vaccine and protection may last for up to one year.

Madison Public Library adds new programming initiatives

The Madison Public Library is adding some new programming initiatives in an effort to discern how best to serve its patrons with programs that are entertaining, provocative, interactive, creative and appealing. According to library director Nancy Adamczyk, "We are experimenting with some new programming ideas in response to requests from Madison area residents during our strategic planning process."
