U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit rescued two males and one female from a grounded 41-foot sailboat taking on water offshore western Lake Erie approximately one mile south of Luna Pier, Friday, at approximately 1 a.m. An Air Station Detroit rescue swimmer assisted each person into the basket of the HH-65C rescue helicopter for safe hoist.

Three people are now safe on ground after being rescued in Monroe County. The coast guard says their sailing vessel ran aground.
