Historical Tour, 4H, Bake Sale, Bookmobile, Ceramics
I thought I might mention the summer solstice this Friday, but I came across a much more interesting article on an important historical event of June 20.
In 1782, Congress adopted the Great Seal of the United States. The seal is used to authenticate certain documents issued by the federal government.
The main figure on the front of the seal is the coat of arms of the U.S. The 1782 resolution adopting the seal describes the image on the reverse as an unfinished pyramid.
In honor of the fact that there were originally 13 states in the Union, items consisting of that number are common motifs in the seal.

Sorry Charlie Day; Condolences; Well Wishes; Congrats
Sorry Charlie Day
I absolutely hate April Fools Day. So I like to look at other holidays that are obscure in the month of April. I found a good one in my search, April 6 each year is one I have never heard of, it is named; "Sorry Charlie Day." It may sound bad, but it is actually a day for those of us who have survived.
Have you ever been rejected for anything? Come on, sure you have! Sorry to say this, but we really need to admit that, that's life. "Sorry Charlie Day" is for all of us who have been spurned and yet somehow we have survived it. Take a minute Sunday and reflect upon a past dejection. Then, smile with the realization that it happens to all of us. We are tougher than we give ourselves credit for. Extensive research on this day has come up with no substantial information around the history of how this day began. It is a day that e-cards have taken advantage of on the Internet and hopefully you can stand stronger and enjoy it and share it. Read more

Grass Fires; Luna 4-H Hosts Bake Sale, Rabies Clinic
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.”
Beauty of the Sunrise
There is a beauty in the spring sunrise here in Luna that is indescribable. The days are beginning to warm up, while the nights are still crisp and a little icy. The morning sky lights up with warm red and orange that embraces you silhouetting the pines. It is a sight that makes turning off the alarm and taking a deep breath to face the day so much easier.
Luna Valley 4-H
The Luna Valley 4-H will host The Great American Bake Sale and annual rabies clinic at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Luna Firehouse. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to help feed needy children across America. Rabies immunization is important since rabid animals have been found in Catron County. This is a great service the Arenas Valley Veterinarian Clinic provides us. Read more
