I used to live in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and it's one of the worst places on Earth. "If you're not from here you stand out" is the perfect encapsulation of the mentality of the locals.

What mentality, it sounds like these folks are brain dead.I've been to New Mexico in the 60's and 70's the locals are very jealous of anyone with brains or money. Very strange place. Michael in Montana

I rather live in a small town with less violence, then getting gang-banged raped by the Latin Kings, Gangster Disciples, etc. Must be at least 100 different gangs in Chicago. Or getting shot by a drive-by on the Westide of Chicago as I'm innoncently walking with my kids, which seems to be the norm in Chicago. Yeah you people have much to say for your Chicago and your crooked politicians.
