REALLY..sickening that the sister did not speak out. The cycle only repeats when you fail to protect others! This young lady could have been spared this pain had his sister spoken up and BROKEN the cycle. I am sure this man was molested by his mother as a young boy..it is after all a learned behavior.

Well Carl, they have an ethical obligation to try their best. If he did not try very hard, it can cause mistrial, or reversal on appeal, and possibly disciplinary against the attorney. So you have to assume he did his best. I guess he just sucked. Thankfully.

i was at the trial, obviously none of you were. The case started out as being conssensual, then the da changed the charge to forcible [rape], but it was called forcable "under duress". They stated that she felt obligated to have sex with him because she felt that if she didnt, he would stop paying child support to her mother. So he actually wasnt convicted of physical-forcible rape. also it was his step daughter. it is still really icky, but 64 years is a bit much for what was basically a statatory rape.

People under 18 can't have concentual rape. Although I agree that if what you are saying is true then 64 years is to long. However if you don't want to go to jail then don't break the law! I hope this scars some more pedofiles out of having sex with children. Also if he was the father of one of her siblings then that is even more disturbing on his part. As an adult he should have conciderd how that would afect his child had he gotten there sister pregnant; no one wants to explain why there sister is also there niece

Are you sure you're responding to the right article? who said anything about the man being illegal? and what do you mean got away with it. He got 64 years. He's in his 40s that's basicly a life sentance. You can't blame everything on illegals.
