Race may be factor in recent gang violence

Latinos and blacks DO get along. Its the f**king ILLEGALS who are hating blacks and whites alike. But illegals now are the majority in every formerly black ghetto. 20 years ago, Watts and Compton were considered to be the quintessential "black" ghettos. But now they are all latino (because its cheap to live there). Where are all the displaced blacks going?

Those of us who live and or work in the city knew the truth from jump street. It's only now a priority now since it's been publicized. We've had race issues regarding gangs for a few years now. I work in local law enforcement. They could have kept this from festering years ago but chose to ignore it because the people the problem affected weren't a priority.

Have you ever heard of "White Flight"? Watts and Compton were of suburbia area smart guy. So whomever posted that non-sence was being highly ignorant.

Looks like you are the one posting nonsense. Watts and Compton are STILL suburbs. But they have always been majority black since about 1945. In about year 2000 they both became majority Latino. What does being a suburb have to do with racial conflict? MOST of Los Angeles neighborhoods are suburbs.

White flight was spurred by blacks moving into suburbs and majority white areas. Latinos move into the ghetto for economic reasons, not racial ones. Once there, they become clannish and territorial just like in Mexico.

The Latinos who were born here and are legal have no real need for gangs, since they can succeed without them. But illegals are shut out of most jobs and housing. And rightly so.
