The heck the mayor is interferring non-City related labor wage dispute. he could not even fight for the union within the city itself. This is a waste of taxpayer dollars. Let the labor arbitrator handle this.

I did not see any cost of living adjustment (cola) mention,$55 cents the 4th year ! After comparing to what the city/county unions pay ! along with the pay raise the city council gave themselves. considering food and gas and everything else rises . most everyone would be insulted at the offer. This is a SURVIVAL contract . This is the core of why unions were formed. I do not like strikes by greedy unions, BUT this is not the case.

I agree If both parties were to enter in binding arbitration (present their fact finding, projections, arguements ) A Arbitrator could decide part/parts or just about all of a new contract, based on the evidence presented.( I really do not think MGT wants this )

Another example of Mayor "Viagra"agosa doing things he has no business mettling in. Let the arbitrators work it out. He needs to pay more attention to his "sanctuary city" which is running wild with illegal and undocumented workers. What a joke he is! And he cheated on his wife as well. Disgusting man!!

In a free market place that janitor job should be open to anyone who wants to do it. I would be willing to bet that when those jobs where held by American born the wages were much higher. These new folks came in and undercut the Americans and now they want to have a strike...go figure

That is how a job becomes a "jobs Americans won't do"

In this struggling economy there should not be a job any one person is not willing to do. I am an American and have found that jobs in any field are few and far between. I myself was Forced to take a steep paycut in order to get some sort of income coming in. I receive a check every 2 weeks and that doesn't mean that I am making it. I had to let my current employer know that I was willing to work for Way less than what I should be maiking only because I was in a bind and needed a job. Times are hard and that is that!

Anon: There was a stamp article, which reminds me. If you are clean and have a drivers license, check at a post office. They have a T.E.(temp.empl) where as you can work for almost a year (can be the best but still have to let go) You be hire again at another station and do the same. I did not mean to disrespect you earlier.

How so? Perhaps if unions were stronger and more plentiful, workers would once again have better access to health care, better wages, better working conditions, and better jobs.

Why are you against unions? Couldn't get into one?
