Strong-arm robbery: 10:42 p.m. May 22, Calle Mayor and Anza Avenue. A robber simulated a gun, and demanded and took the victim's backpack.

Mosquitoes bearing West Nile Virus have been found in early-season samplings done at Machado Lake in Harbor Regional Park and the Wilmington Drain that connects to the lake north of PCH.

Grand theft: 1:44-3 a.m. May 15, 1900 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Rims and tires were reported stolen from a vehicle.
