Two Mid-Missouri colleges are trying to help you get your degree faster. Linn State Technical College and Lincoln University signed an agreement that would allow students with an associate degree in computer technology at Linn State to get financial assistance for a bachelor's degree at Lincoln.

While Gov. Jay Nixon had some strong words to say about portions of the $25 billion state budget that Missouri lawmakers passed this week, he seemed pleased with their education spending plan.

Missouri senators gave final approval Thursday to a bill changing the name of Linn State Technical College to the State Technical College of Missouri.

"[If you're in kindergarten] through eighth and you live outside the radius of a mile, you qualify for public school transportation.

Sponsoring Republican Sen. Mike Kehoe , of Jefferson City, said the change would reflect the statewide mission of the technical college and could help market it to more students.
