Sheriff's employee arrested with explosive devices, commits suicide
A Lindsay man, who worked as a Detention Services Officer for Tulare County jails, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion that he was making a bomb.

County fire crews battle three residential fires in one evening
County fire crews were first called to a home in Lindsay shortly before 5 p.m. Firefighters at the scene reported heavy flames coming from the residence when they arrived at 4:56 p.m. In total, three engines, a water tender and a battalion chief were involved in extinguishing the blaze.

The first was a home in Lindsay near Avenue 232 and Road 201. The fire department received the call about 5 p.m. and found the house engulfed by fire upon arrival.

Two child molesters sentenced in Tulare County Tuesday
Tulare County Superior Court Judge Gary Paden handed down the lengthier sentence for Richard Trevino Tamez, 41, following his conviction on six counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14, one count of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 using force or fear and two counts of showing harmful matter to minors.
