Designer gauges the significance of downtown's architecture
“Downtown is the living room of Belleville”
When Anthony Rubano walked through downtown Belleville last week, he was amazed at all the architectural details he saw.
Rubano led a walking tour Tuesday that included several of the people involved with downtown. Afterward he spoke at Lindenwood Auditorium on West Main Street about what he saw and why it matters in a lecture entitled: 'Parts of the Whole: Belleville's Commercial Architecture.'
Rubano, project designer for the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, also is an architecture professor who teaches historic preservation. Read more
