Help Support 2 Year old Ryan who has a Rare incurable Disease

Fundraiser at Martha Clara Vineyards, Entemanns Family Farm, July 11th 2008. Prepaid $35.00 P.P. $50.00 at the door. Includes 2 glasses of wine, Plate of food, Live Music. For Tickets Call 631 298-0075 Gallery One 625 Sound Avenue, Riverhead NY In February of 2007, we were blessed by the arrival of our son Ryan from Guatemala. Ryan is an absolute joy! Upon his arrival at eight months old, Ryan was delayed in his development, typical in Guatemalan culture. Ryan was evaluated by an early intervention agency and began receiving six sessions of therapy a week. As time progressed so did Ryan, but the pace seemed slow and after three months things just didnt seem to be clicking. We began to suspect that there was something else going on. Roughly three months, ten pediatric specialists and numerous tests later we concluded our search in the office of a Metabolic specialist at Schneiders Childrens Hospital. Ryan has been diagnosed with Tay-Sachs Disease (TSD). TSD is a metabolic disorder in which the body is missing the vital enzyme Hex-A. Without Hex-A Ryan body is unable to break down ganglioside and instead stores this substance in the cells of his brain and nervous system. Currently there is no effective treatment and no cure for this terminal condition. We are asking God for a miracle, trusting in His goodness and surrendering to His will. While we don't always understand God's purpose, we trust in his sovereignty. We count each day with Ryan a blessing as we wait on the Lord. We thank God for Ryan and for the privilege it is to love and care for him. Since his care is 24/7 we would ask that e-mail be used as the best method of communicating with us. Ryans sleeping and eating are both a challenge and often occur throughout the day. As a result it is not always easy to come to the phone or door. Please join us in our simple prayer: Gods plan and purpose be accomplished in Ryans life. Ryan would be comfortable and peaceful in the coming months. Our family will continue to be sustained by Gods grace and peace.

We can't Afford it ANYMORE

Lindenhurst Resident said in the Lindenhurst Forum:

My Taxes in Lindenhurst have gone up roughly 30% in the 5 years i have lived here. I'm sure everyone here has cut back on spending due to high taxes, utilities, homeowners insurance, Etc..... I think its time for the schools to realize that they have to curb their spending in order to better their residents pockets. First we voted down the firehouse, and now the School Budget. WE CAN'T AFFORD IT ANYMORE.
