Midcoast Maine Arts & Artisans Tour
Stell Shevis of Camden is 99 and still quite active as an artist; she will demonstrate her acclaimed enamel techniques during this year's Midcoast Maine Arts & Artisans Tour. Just before the turn of the century, 18 Midcoast creatives - although that moniker had yet to be coined - joined together to create the Country Roads Artists and Artisans Tour, a self-guided network of open studios over the course of a long September weekend.
Fairies take to the woods at Merryspring
Several fairies came in full regalia, with wings, wands and crowns. They were invited to make fairy houses on the grounds, or enjoy ones made by Merryspring staff.
Josh Gerritsen will present a free program on drones and aerial photography at the Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main St. Gerritsen will show two short scenic films he made of Camden and his farm in Lincolnville using his remotely controlled drone, or quadcopter. He will also demonstrate how the quadcopter works by flying it outside and projecting the aerial images on a screen inside the library.
Christine Burstein of Lincolnville is running against Peter Weston in the race for Maine State Representative for 96th District, which includes the towns of Belmont, Lincolnville, Liberty, Montville, Morrill, Palermo and Searsmont. The race is the result of redistricting of District 44 , the seat formerly held by first-term Rep. Jethro Pease, R, Morrill, who is not seeking reelection.

Wayfaring Strangers play Elm Street Grille
Rose & The Wayfaring Strangers will play Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Elm Street Grille, 115 Elm St./Route 1. The group's style of music ranges from Alan Jackson, George Jones, Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt to Merle Haggard, with a little bluegrass gospel thrown in for good measure.
