Fire officials are breathing a sigh of relief tonight, while fighting a blaze that they say could have been much worse.

A man is in custody after several Montana agencies became involved in a high speed chase.

A Lincoln man was arrested Monday evening after a wide-ranging, two-hour pursuit that included several law enforcement agencies and a helicopter, said Great Falls Police Officer Cory Reeves.

Authorities say a 51-year-old man was killed when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle on Montana 200 in Lincoln.

BIG SANDY - The Big Sandy community is holding a fundraiser Friday to help the Pearson family, whose home was destroyed in a suspected arson fire May 1. Ron and Gay Pearson's ranch is about 40 miles southeast of Big Sandy on the banks of the Missouri River.

Beginning this weekend, the Lincoln Ranger District office will be open on the weekends throughout the summer to accommodate visitors who want to see the 12-year-old grizzly bear killed by a truck in October 2007 near Lincoln.
