A Frederick man has been sentenced to three months in prison for his role in a kickback scandal involving food services with the Oregon Department of Corrections.

Libertytown -- The driver killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on Md. 26 at Clemsonville Road was a Mount Airy man, according to Maryland State Police.

Spring Ridge resident Leonard Queiroz on Monday filed an ethics complaint against Frederick County Board of Education president Jean Smith, accusing her of "poisoning" the Oakdale High School redistricting process.

Police have arrested a Maryland couple for two recent bank robberies in Frederick County after one of them left his cellphone and wallet at one of the banks.

When robbing a bank, it helps to not to leave behind anything to identify you. After a May 22 bank robbery at Sovereign Bank on Corporate Drive, authorities allege they found the wallet and cell phone of 28-year-old Carlos Ismael Williams on the bank counter.

Leg crushed by milling machine An Odenton man was injured when his right leg was run over by a milling machine on the eastbound U.S. 340 ramp to eastbound I-70, according to the Maryland State Police.
