I'm glad my son attends a private school with an appropriate dress code. Another affirmation as to why we chose to leave the public school system. Too many ridiculous distractions from learning.

That child probably doesn't even understand the ramifications of abortion! Totally a publicity stunt pushed by the parents. OH yeah, and abortion had nothing to do with the presidents speech to the kids that day.

Uniforms in every school would prevent such issues.

Where on that shirt is the "biblical message" he says he wants to share with his classmates? Seems like a political message since he is referencing health care. Stop hiding behing the bible, it is a bit fanatical.

Schools should have authority in dress codes. Now if they would just enforce modesty standards, along with "no advertising". Too bad about the law suit.

If I were him I would send him to skool wearing like 10 of these at a time.

better yet, maybe he should put below that, "Can U Actually Read This" and on the back "Can U Actually Understand It As Well"??

maybe he can draw a fetus on it next time too or at least a little sperm swimming about?

Smart choice by the school. Government does not have the right to infringe upon free speech. Since public schools are government schools they have no foot to stand on in regards to the Constitution. Private schools can restrict what they want because they are private.

A good idea.

Better for the school to relent rather than spend countless hours and financial resources to fight ( and most definitely lose) a potential lawsuit should the kid be disciplined for wearing the shirt.

Uniforms in public schools are not in the best interest of the people.

If the West Shore School District was a private school, then I would be in favor of it. But since this is a public school system that is paid for with taxpayer money, the tables would be turned in a heartbeat.

I have no problems with anybody's religious beliefs. However, I think with the controversy surrounding the issue of abortion, this shirt would be quite a disruption in the public school system. Muslims pray to Mecca everyday, and Rastafarians smoke marijuana to meditate, but I don't think these would be allowed in public schools either. If these christian parents want their child to be able to express his controversial christian beiliefs, there are plenty of private christian schools that I am sure would support this child's belief in the opposition of abortion.

What else will our Government try to stifle? God is out of the schools, along with morals and a God-fearing respect for adults, police, authorities. Now abortion must be something religious being taught by the school?

How is this shirt religious? I am not religious. I do not believe in the God of Abraham. I am pro life. If you do not want kids exposed to freedom of speech then send them to private school or home school. Why do we even have public schools? What does a HS Diploma get anyone? Soon there will be questions about the value of college degrees.

how is this shirt religious or political? "abortion isn't health care" Isn't that a true statement? its NOT healthcare. neither is plastic surgery-its a procedure one CHOOSES to get. so where is the religion or politics about it.

Your so right. I wonder if they are sueing for emotional damages too?? What a joke these people are. I bet mom and dad made that shirt for him and made him wear it that day. If mom and dad had any guts they would go push thier beliefs somewhere else and not in thier sons school. He proabably doesnt even understand his shirt. He should have been sent to school focused on learning that day, not on what kind of reaction his T-shirt was going to get. These parents need to get a grip!!! Let your child go to school and learn and have fun and make friends. You now put your child in the spotlight because of your beliefs and he could possibly be picked on beacuse of all this attention. Way to go mom and dad!! I bet your sons real proud of you now that you've put him this spotlight.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Leo

If there have been slight tensions or frictions between you and a loved one recently, this is the perfect day to get them out into the open, thrash them out and then forget about them. Things could get quite heated in the process but don't worry because they'll work out all right in the end. Put as much energy into kissing and making up as you did in arguing!
