So Phil was 'ahead of his time' meaning a little lost boy in a mans world and ending up dead?
You also claim that 'he was put in a bad situation'. If he was so ahead of his time, as you claim, why was he put in a situation? Just another excuse by excuse makers. Phil put himself in that apartment, a place where he didn't belong. Once you come to accept that you'll understand that he was trying to live life in the fast lane, one that only has a dead end, especially for the immature.
