Lenox Water Superintendent Bob Horn tests water for chlorine levels during the final stage of the water treatment process at the Root Water Treatment Plant in Lenox, which provides the drinking water for the town. In one year, six of the county's 42 waterworks systems delivered water containing contaminants above the Environmental Protection Agency's maximum levels for health and safety, according to an analysis by The Berkshire Eagle.
