Leisure Knoll residents slam LIPA's billing
More than 150 grumbling seniors took aim at the Long Island Power Authority at the Leisure Knoll retirement community in Ridge on Friday, demanding answers to meter-reading irregularities and $1,000-plus winter electric bills.
LIPA says Leisure Knoll's Jan. bills were inflated
More than 350 residents of the Leisure Knoll senior community in Ridge received inflated LIPA bills in January because of improper meter entries in December, the authority acknowledged Friday at a crowded forum to address soaring winter electric bills.
