Community Roundup | Joe Depriest: Neisler receives Lifetime Preservation Achievement Award
Mary Sommers Neisler of Kings Mountain recently received the Historic Shelby Foundation's Lifetime Preservation Achievement Award.
She served on the Historic Preservation Task Force that culminated in the production of the book, 'Architectural Perspectives of Cleveland County, North Carolina.'
Neisler has worked on her own historic properties in Kings Mountain and been a force for preservation. She was instrumental in forming a Kings Mountain historic properties group.
Her projects have included researching and restoring the 1870 store and attached residence at 104 Battleground Ave. in Kings Mountain. Read more
