LANCASTER, Wis. -- The fall harvest of corn and soybeans for tri-state area farmers is finally in gear, thanks to drier weather.

LANCASTER, Wis. -- The Grant County Sheriff's Department has ended a short-lived practice of charging job applicants for fingerprinting, in compliance with an order issued this week from Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen.

Grant County residents will get a chance to review new flood maps this week. Federal and state officials will hold an open house in Lancaster on Tuesday to feature the maps.

A Nov. 17 open house in Lancaster will allow Grant County residents to look at preliminary versions of updated flood maps to learn about their risk of flooding, whether they'll need to buy flood insurance, and the process for appealing changes from existing maps.
