The couple never saw it coming. Never did Christine Loewe and Ian Miller, both of Port Angeles, think that either of two bottles filled with guests' messages from their Crescent Beach wedding eight years ago and tossed into the Strait of Juan de Fuca would find their way back to the couple.
Man charged with girlfriend's murder; photos of flowers led to body
A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder after photos of flowers taken on his missing girlfriend's cellphone led detectives to her body, according to charges filed Thursday in Pierce County Superior Court.

Lakebay woman allegedly killed by boyfriend identified
Gardner-Edwards, 45, was reported missing June 30 by her boyfriend. Pierce County sheriff's detectives found the man's story suspicious and began investigating.
Highway 16 crash attributed to racing
At about 7 p.m., a 20-year-old Lakebay woman in a 2008 Mazda 3 and a 20-year-old Port Orchard woman in a 2007 model were racing east on the highway, according to the State Patrol.
