Registration for Lake Villa Township Baseball League fall baseball begins Friday, Aug. 1. The league hopes to have six teams at each level: Pinto, ages 7 and 8; Mustang, ages 9 and 10; Bronco, ages 11 and 12; and Pony, ages 13 and 14. Girls softball will be for girls 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, and 15 and under.

Lake Villa man, 75, gets 4 years for sex abuse
A 75-year-old Lake Villa man pleaded guilty in Lake County court Tuesday to sexually abusing a person under the age of 18. In accepting the negotiated plea, Robert Eberhardt agreed to serve four years in prison for the abuse of the minor and then register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, Lake County Judge George Bridges said in court.
