Camden Sheriff Considering More Layoffs

It is time to cut the over loaded fat in all county offices and get rid of the waste with the office workers and feed the sheriff's department so the citizens of Camden won't be subjected to gangs etc.
When criminals know that we are low on deputies they will come here and all citizens will be in danger. It is time to move out of a county that has such little regard for it's law enforcers. I am a taxpayer-let me tell you where I want my tax dollars to go and it isn't to the fat folks in the fat seats making their wallets fat.

the sheriff now knows that com berry will throw anyone uder the bus to make him look good. if the sheriffs request is valid that he should take it to court. if he doesn't then the whole thing is phoney. simply a ploy to make the politicos look good. let's go sheriff, lets see if you are for real or not.

I would like for all of my tax dollars to go straight to the sheriff dept. and not to the commissioners office. Instead of us moving away, we need to get rid of the commissioners in office that are only out for theirself.

Hire more Deputies and Buy more cars, Make the Comm. fire them and have the cars repoed. No I don't think so! They will take out a loan and pay for it all, or get the shit sued out of them! Support your Deputies Tommy!!!!!!

Seems like to me the first thing the Commissioners need to do is ask there selfs why are we paying the County Administrator such a big check and are they going to cut jobs at the new government mansion that they built. They should have built a new jail before they even thought about building that. The old building had a big enough meeting room.

We need to group together and go to commissioners meetings and voice our opinions so that the majority of taxpaying citizens find out what is going on. We are sitting back and complaining to only a few. The commissioners are doing whatever they can and want to do without any objections from us, we need to show and demand they stop this wasteful spending and support our sheriff dept.

He gave four notice today and fired one yesterday.

I heard but won't say, don't want to embarress any of them. I'm sure they have enough to worry about, then to have their names put on here. This guy is one great sheriff isn't he? When its all said and done he'll have fired around 35 people in his first six monthes. Thats roughly 1/4 of the department. They can say what they want about BTW, but he never did that and somehow got by.

The former sheriff got by because used drug money and ticket money to pay for stuff. He made sure he destroyed that program before he left so Sheriff Gregory would not have enough money to run the dept. Yeah he was a great sheriff he ran a dept for almost 30 yrs and because he lost he ran it down in the ground for the taxpayers because he was angry. This is his way of getting back at Camden for kicking his butt out. Good bye Bill thanks for using the money on stuff you shouldn't have so that we (taxpayers) now get to pay for everything. I went to the meeting and Sheriff Gregory and he said he could run the budget that Bill had that year on 6m he did not say he could run it every year for that. Even if he did say it though he couldn't have known what a mess that place was in until he got the job. Bill made sure that everything was not maintained and that all money was spent before he left. They even did not pay some of the bills for the last couple of months so that when the new sheriff took over he was already in the red.

Bill wasn't a sheriff, he was a politician and he was good at that but he was a terrible sheriff. I was a friend at one time and I know just how many faces that man truely has and it is more than I care to count. If you think that you are a friend of Bill's you should think again. He wanted something from you or needed you at the time but as soon as he is through with you he is done with your friendship. I see him from time to time and he is truly a man with a grudge against us in Camden. He thinks almost everyone that told him they were voting for him lied to him. I think he deserved a few lies back because he sure lied enough to everyone.

Bullsh!t. Bill did do that so he could hire all of his mill buddies. We all know how much you love Bill Smith because everytime you post you just try to convince everyone how wonderful he was as sheriff. Bill proved himself to be nothing more than a crook. I don't like the fact that lay offs are happening but at least it is being done now because of budget issues, which are far more legitimate reasons than the reasons Bill did it.

It was for budget reasons? Is that true about the 25 he fired on Jan. 1st?

No those were dead weight and Bill Smith cronies just like you are. They needed to go and their are still some of those that need to be let go.
