Summit Youth Baseball & Softball registration ends on Sunday. Register now at www.summitbaseball.com . SYBS is for boys and girls ages 4-14. New this year is an Indoor facility with several batting cages that all players will be able to use.
Open Mic Poetry Night will be held on Thursday, April 25, CACE Gallery of Fine Art, at 300 Main Street, with community poetry readings from 7 to 7:30 p.m., followed by an hour of Kim Nuzzo performing.
McKissick Museum will host a symposium at 5:30 p.m. on "Step Right Up! Sideshows in America," an exhibit that opened in January.
Theater company finds new space on Longmont's Main Street
Just last month, the owners of Colorado Actors Theatre moved out of their space at the Twin Peaks Mall and weren't sure if they would succeed in finding a place to relocate in Longmont.
<![CDATA[John B. Baratta, of Fort Collins, Colo. died Feb. 13, 2013 due to complications of pneumonia. He was born in New Jersey on Feb. 22, 1932 to Anne and Phillip Baratta, and lived in Crofton, Md. from 1965- 2009. John graduated from Dikinson College, served in the United States Army from 1956-1958, and worked for the Social Security Administration for 35 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Marcia Schmidt Baratta and is survived by his son Michael, daughter-in-law Pacita, four grandchildren Malia, Jacob, Leilani and Nathan, Wellington, Colo., sister-in-laws Nancy Downum and Gretchen Roske and nieces Kim Egan, Cassandra Duncan, and Christy Henry of Colorado. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m., Allnutt Funeral Home, 650 W. Drake Rd. Fort Collins, CO 80526. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations offered to Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation (childrenscoloradofoundation.org).
