A Fresno couple were awarded more than $1.4 million in Fresno County Superior Court after they claimed a Kerman real estate broker defrauded them out of thousands of dollars for a building project that never was completed.

Angelina Hernandez, 44, and Reyna Valenzuela, 42, both of Kerman, died in the crash near Manning and Hayes avenues, the Fresno County Coroner's Office said Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol says alcohol was a likely a contributing factor in a head-on car crash Sunday evening that killed a 54-year-old Fresno woman.
