Task force arrests 14

A drug round up. Big Flipping deal. One ounce of crack, 37 Lortabs, and two ounce of weed. A two days supply for a heavy user. Does anyone realize that weed comes into town 20 pounds at a time. Crack comes in by the Kilo. Still we rarely see a bust that means anything. We rounded up 14 little punk dealers, who barely made minimum wage by the end of the month selling drugs. Oh my, one of them had 1300.00 dollars cash on him when arrested.( an entire months profit) You see it's all a dog and pony show. 14 dealers rounded up, sounds impressive to the good pretty people who don't do drugs. Well, they took 3 percent of the supply off the streets. Big deal. Show me a kilo of cocaine or a bale of marijuana or don't show me sh t. thirteen hundred dollars and ten rocks has no business making the news.
I have lived in Abbeville for twenty years. For twenty years running, I can't think of a single day the pot heads couldnt find a bag of weed.

When will we hear of them arresting 14 people for being responsible for the drugs being brought into the parish. It is always nickel and dimers, lets start reading about the rich guys being arrested for bringing it into the area. That will never happen.
A question for everyone. Why is it that under Sheriff Euda Delcambre, many large barges ande boats were seized with large quantities of dope, but since he has retired never again has this happened? Never under Lemaire or the present Sheriff.

Well, I think we don't hear about the large shipments coming in anymore because they have wised up and are shipping their drugs in smaller shipments and making more trips. The problem is that more than likely, the big dealers are not in our area or are covering their tracks very well. But I would think they are just not in our area.

They are still here. Just law enforcement does nor have the intelligence to catch them.

Its an never ending war, and it will be like that always. As long as Drs. and those clinics keep operating to provide prescription drugs to the weak minded!

Some people have mental disorders and need those meds. It doesn't mean they are weak minded. It's not their fault. Now there are people who abuse them, but you wouldn't want someone with bipolar walking around without meds would you. LOL

We learned a very hard lesson there...but God does not give us anything we cannot handle. It just makes us stronger.

Whew! I didn't think you were talking about needed meds. But I don't think God gave us mental disorders or cancer or anything to make us stronger. It's the genes or the environment or something but I don't think it's God. Maybe He helps us handle it better though! LOL

Mix,you are right.In the early 80s a barge in intracoastal was full of marijuana and was supposed to go to NewIberia to be burned,the barge never got there.A friend of mine went talk to Sheriff Couvillion about a trailer with drug traffic going on,Couvillion was to busy on the phone talking to a friend about a weekend hunt.Its a front to the public just to say i arrested someone.These people who were arested live from paycheck to paycheck.The big dealers run vermilion parish.The people of vermillion parish need to wake up.People think Dawn Marcelle is crazy,she is right.Dawn is telling the truth.There is so much corruption in vermillion parish its sad people turn away from the truth.

yall r right on about the drug bust ...petty little drug bust..you r so right the big dealers r in abbeville. vermillion parish is so crooked ..i know I dealt with the system and yeah I lost .. I don't know how to bribe the right people in abbeville..you know the ones on the second floor and the ones across the street
