The Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway has been around for almost 10 years but it still is evolving.
The byway committee recently produced a revamped tourism brochure featuring a podcast driving tour of the byway, which stretches along the Mississippi and Illinois rivers from the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site to Pere Marquette State Park.
Byway council Chairman Brett Stawar said the updates are about making the byway easier for travelers to get to and use.
You can check out an iPod from the Alton Visitor Center during operating hours or download the tour for use on your own MP3 player by visiting www.greatriversbyway.org. The tour also is available as a compact disc for use in car CD players. Read more
