Police arrest two and seize guns at suspected meth lab in Comstock Township

Two people were arrested and guns were seized in connection with a suspected methamphetamine lab that was raided early Saturday morning by Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputies and SWAT officers. In a press release, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office stated that police executed two search warrants after receiving information about possible methamphetamine production at an address in the 6100 block of Imperial Drive in Comstock Township.

String of vehicle break-ins under investigation in Kalamazoo's Milwood neighborhood

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Assistant Chief Don Webster said there have been several vehicle break-ins this week in the Milwood area. Five larcenies were reported Sunday and Monday night, and six more were reported Thursday.

Police officer's racial-discrimination lawsuit dismissed by Kalamazoo judge

While there's little doubt he had the qualifications for the position, a Kalamazoo County judge has ruled that race did not play a role in Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer David Moran not being promoted to sergeant last year . "The court is able find that a non-discriminatory reason was brought forth and I don't see that the plaintiff has then met the burden of establishing the pretext," Circuit Judge Pamela L. Lightvoet said before granting a motion filed in July by the city of Kalamazoo that sought to have Moran's racial-discrimination lawsuit dismissed.
