JC struggles against empty storefronts; hopes emerge for turnaround

Five doors away from a longtime Main Street fixture is a boarded-up window. That window is part of the reason Mike Comfort is closing Comfort and Son Jewelers after 50 years and moving to the Vestal Parkway.
