Greene County bridge projects begin

The bridge carrying Route 23 over the Schoharie Creek that was damaged by Hurricane Irene in 2011 is being replaced, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office announced Friday. The new bridge will be built just downstream and roughly four-and-a-half feet higher to allow for a wider opening under the bridge in an effort to prevent flooding.
