I'M VERY SORRY TO HEAR THAT A FRIEND OF MINE WAS MURDERED AND AT THAT IT WAS NOT ABOUT HIM , I HAVE KNOWN DARIUS FOR ABOUT 16YRS NOW AND I'MM SADDEN TO HAVE LOST HIM HE WAS ALWAY'S FUNNY MAKING JOKES OR GIVEN ADVICE TO YOUNG BLACK MEN TO GET IT TOGETHER, MY PRAY'S GO OUT TO HIM MOTHER MIRIAM BROTHER KEITH AND SITER MONIQUE AS FOR HIS MOM RAISED HIM ALONE THAT IS AN ACHIEVEMENT AND TERRIBLE SOMEONE TOOK IT AWAY FROM HER .. R.I.P DARIUS

Jersey City man shot dead in West Side Avenue park
Scene at West Side Avenue park in Jersey City this afternoon after Darius Burgess, 28, was fatally shot.

Wow! I couldn't believe this happen to such a good guy. I don't know Darius personally but I did grow up with him. He is was a quite guy, everytime I looked his way he would smile, you can't help but to smile back. It kills me to see how hurt his family. My prayers go out to all of you Mom, Brother and Sister family and friends. May God Bless you all and give you the strength you need.Your smile Darius will be VERY MUCH missed. OX

I used to live on Van Wagenen more than 10 years ago, but I was 17-18 when I moved. I knew Darius as a quiet person whom would not harm anyone he was a cool dude. It saddened me very much to hear what happened to him.
