Meetings are set for Feb. 5 in both Jennings and Lenora and Feb. 12 in Kanorado and McDonald, according to the U.S. Postal Service, which is reducing hours at hundreds of small Kansas post offices -- thousands nationwide -- in an effort to save money.

Pre-legislative town hall meeting: Featuring Kansas Representative-elect John Doll and Kansas Representative-elect Russell Jennings, 9 a.m. in the Endowment Room at the Beth Tedrow Student Center at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive.

Future Buster Cheer and Dance Clinic: For boys and girls age 6 to 14, featuring activities from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive, with evening basketball game performances at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per child.

A Jennings woman was injured Tuesday when the pickup truck she was riding in was struck head-on by a sport utility vehicle on a county road eight miles north of Jennings.
