Freeze expected early Tuesday, fire danger remains high
Tender blossoms and delicate vegetation are in jeopardy across the northern parts of Middle Georgia as a freeze warning is posted for early Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued freeze warning from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. Tuesday when temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for four to eight hours from the midstate to northern Georgia.
Trees, flowers and vegetation are in a sensitive phase of growing and may suffer damage due to the prolonged freeze, the warning states. Read more

Jeffersonville man dies in fatal accident
A 52-year-old Jeffersonville man died Wednesday night in a traffic accident on Ga. 96 in Twiggs County.
Tommy Kinch Nobles crossed the center line near the railroad tracks about 10 miles west of Jeffersonville and hit another vehicle in the oncoming lane at 6:05 p.m., said Georgia State Patrol Operator Corey Alligood.
More details about the accident are expected to be released when Senior Trooper Barry Riggs files his investigative report on the collision. Read more
