Jefferson City man sentenced to 4 years on firearms charge
U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes on Monday sentenced Demetric Antwan Gaines, 33, of Jefferson City, to four years in federal prison, without parole, on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gaines pleaded guilty to the charge May 14, according to a U.S. Attorney's office news release, admitting he had been in possession of a Kahr Arms 9mm semi-automatic pistol on Aug. 8, 2017.
