Two men accused of murdering an elderly Carthage couple pleaded innocent to charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree burglary in Jasper County Court today.

In a news conference held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sheriff Archie Dunn announced that Matthew Laurin of Springfield, Missouri and Darren Winans of Jasper, Missouri have been arrested for the murders of Robert and Ellen Sheldon.
