Driver's license offices spared from chopping block, but Texas considering other changes
Nearly 90 driver's license offices across the state have been spared from closing after the state's Sunset Commission rejected a recommendation to shutter them. "What is efficiency to the state was going to be transferred to inefficiency to the citizen, and we weren't going to do that," said Sen. Brian Birdwell, a Granbury Republican and the chairman of the commission, which identifies and eliminates waste, duplication and inefficiencies in state agencies.
